So it's been a year-hard to believe Marie and Michael married 12-13-14 and a year later we wish we were still planning their wedding at Congress Hall! We thought their 1 year anniversary was the perfect opportunity to blog their awesome day! Venue: Congress Hall Photography: Andy Todes Videography: Lovesick DJ: Lovesick Florist: Twisted Willow Stationary: Abbey Malcolm Planning & Design: Kyle Michelle Weddings ~Kristin The ladies of Kyle Michelle Weddings have always adored winter weddings and it looks like thousands of couples throughout the country feel the same way this year. December 13, 2014 is quickly becoming the most popular wedding date of the year; mainly because it falls on a Saturday and it is the last date with sequential numbers until January 2, 2034 (1/2/34). Brides everywhere have been frantically calling various venues in hopes of securing this special date for their wedding. This search for a venue has truly turned into a treasure hunt since, while around 7,200 couples wed on the second weekend of December last year, close to 20,000 couples are expected to wed in the same weekend of 2014 - about three times 2013's number! As a result, a DJ company from New York called Scratch Weddings has reported a 300% increase in requests for December weddings since last year alone. For all of these reasons we are so happy that our 12/13/14 couple, Marie and Michael, have secured Congress Hall in Cape May (pictured above) for their wedding day! We have been having so much fun helping to plan their wedding and we absolutely can not wait to see the end result! Congratulations Marie and Michael, you're one of the lucky 20,000 who will have a truly special wedding day! When you think of Cape May, NJ (in the wedding world) there are some staple venues you think of; Congress Hall, The Chalfonte, Hotel Alcott and The Southern Mansion. Cape May is a city saturated with 19th century, Victorian Architecture that drips with romance. I happen to be a tiny bit obsessed (ok, a lotta bit) with history, especially the Victorian Era, so Cape May is my shangri-la! Meredith and John had their ceremony at the beloved Cape May Bed & Breakfast, The Southern Mansion with the reception at the Hotel Alcott. It was a flawless day with fantastical skies, matchless weather (for July) and an abundance of southern hospitality. The Southern Mansion Meredith & John at the Hotel Alcott before they saw each other. John's family are Tennessee natives and brought the south to us yankees. It's been a long time since I have experienced that many altruistic people in one space. I just love this picture of the bridal party! We can not get enough of this fever for food trucks at weddings! Meredith and John had Kona Ice, a snow cone truck! Thank you Meredith and John for letting us be a part of your gorgeous wedding!
Living in New Jersey has its perks, and being able to drive a short distance and reach the loveliness of Cape May is most definitely one of them! Today was one of those days we were able to "work", while enjoying the beautiful outdoors. We headed to The Southern Mansion in Cape May to meet Andy from ExtraStep Video Productions . He asked us to help him produce a video he so graciously named "The Top 10 Wedding Tips from the Experts." We were more than excited to oblige. After many, many takes we can only hope Andy's ability to edit is spot on. Don't worry; as soon as it's complete we'll put it up for the world to see! After shooting, we headed out to explore all the wedding possibilities Cape May has to offer! Of, course The Southern Mansion is stunning. A complete Victorian Bed & Breakfast Mansion-yummy! Although Cape May has many wedding venues we found this next one to be a great combination of Old Victorian with an updated twist-stunning! Congress Hall is unique and sophisticated-perfect for a beach wedding! photo by Gooch Photography And our final stop was our absolute favorite! The Ocean Club Hotel is NEW and perfectly designed for a unique wedding event! Samantha was more than accommodating and we can't wait to work at The Ocean Club Hotel! Today was perfect-just another reason we LOVE our job!
